Employment support for job seekers

Yirra Maar (Hand up) supports any Aboriginal person who seeks employment. We have specialist expertise working with Aboriginal people who have become caught up in the criminal justice system (prisons, adult corrections, courts, police). We enter some of the prisons in Perth and deliver the service in the community.

We assist by pre-employment motivation, mentoring and getting skills to gain and remain in employment. We help with most problems which could make gaining or retaining work a challenge. We have a choice of staff working directly with participants and our key roles are to support positive community engagement, breaking the cycle of offending and assisting people to financial and emotional stability.
